Description: Job Function:
Perform a variety of responsible confidential and complex technical duties for the Engineering Manager. The position will involve creating, documenting, developing, and implementing procedures used to assemble, process, test and/or manufacture of undersea/harsh environment connectors and cable assemblies. The position will also include project assisting in technical program reporting, action items, sales quotes, and follow-up contract reviews.
Level of Authority:
Performs duties with limited supervision following established procedures and deadlines. Has limited latitude to make decisions about priorities for both routine schedules and response to non-routine and emergency situations. Responsibility for judgment, thoroughness and competence is most important due to potential disruption of company operations, monetary loss or adverse customer relations.
Work Environment:
Most of the work is performed in a fast-paced office setting with frequent interruptions and with the need to deal with a great diversity of people.
Essential Job Functions:
Operates a CAD software program to develop, create product and production drawings.
Working Knowledge of Auto CAD Light and Solid Works.
Operates a PC to view, enter, edit, format, revise, print, process and distribute information; plans, creates and produces a variety of written materials such as forms, correspondence, manuals, contracts, agreements, articles, lists, invoices, sales orders, quotations, charts, matrices, reports, records, schedules, templates, models, graphics materials for presentations and other documents of similar complexity.
Familiar with Windows based software, in particular Microsoft Office applications. (Word, Excel and Microsoft Project).
Utilizes spreadsheets to track action items and compile data to meet deadlines.
Develops, updates, and retrieves data from new or existing spreadsheet models, database programs/files and/or other automated/manual sources; establishes, maintains and updates files, records, accounts and other information as needed to support and document function operations and activities.
Initiate correspondence on a variety of matters requiring an in-depth understanding of programs, department policies and procedures. Format, create, produce and edit correspondence and other written materials.
Arranges, participates in, and implements, as directed, conferences and project meetings.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Technical Qualifications and Capabilities:
Minimum of a four-year electro/mechanical engineering degree or equivalent comparable experience preferred as evidence of a broad education and an ability to deal with diverse situations and diversity of people preferred.
Employee must have the ability to handle multiple interruptions and adjustments to priorities throughout the day.
Employee must have the ability to communicate effectively with diverse, and sometimes irate, individuals and to handle calmly and efficiently situations ranging from routine to emergency.
Requires excellent memory and organizational ability, in order to set priorities, organize workload, handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
Must be able to quickly acquire knowledge of the company’s purpose, functions, procedures and practices.
Keep abreast of changes in policies, programs, procedures, standards and regulations applicable to the department.
Must have a valid drivers license.
Understand and apply oral and written instructions to produce a desired result.
Communicate effectively (both orally and in writing).
