Database Administrator

Essential Functions: You will: * Understanding and support of BW
design, architecture, Info cubes, and hierarchy. * Review overall
physical database structures for data integrity, performance quality,
recoverability, maintenance, and space requirement considerations *
Work closely with applications development teams to ensure proper data
modeling and design paradigms are applied in the creation and ongoing
maintenance of respective databases, to ensure efficient data access
in application programs, and to review test benchmarks * Assist in the
definition and resolution of database problems. * Create, develop, and
review the physical model created from the logical model, ensuring
that the detailed physical design of data structures and databases
complies with standards and conventions. * Recommend and establish
standards, guidelines, and procedures for all aspects of data
modeling, database design and maintenance. * Produce: entity
relationship diagrams, data flow diagrams, database normalization
schemas, logical to physical database mapping, data table parameters,
and manage the implementation and use of the enterprise data
dictionary. * Relational Database Modeling, DW Database Design, and
Data Integration Design. * Participate in installation and
configuration of SAP Oracle databases and database infrastructure. *
Functional and technical evaluation of database upgrades and patches,
database backup and recovery, change management disaster recovery
planning and support. * Also responsible for assisting with the
establishment and enforcement of database and data integration
standards and guidelines in order to ensure database and data
integration conformity across North America. The consultant will be
working with various members of IT to design, test and implement SAP
and other database applications.

Minimum Job Qualifications (these are minimum qualifications REQUIRED
for this position) * At least 5 years experience designing large-scale
(> 1 Terabyte) databases for data warehousing or similar projects. *
At least 3 years designing and implementing Oracle specific Data
Warehousing features like Partitioning, Bitmap Indices, Star
Transformation, Query Rewrite. * A minimum of 7 years of experience
with Oracle relational databases 8i, 9i and 10G - Backup Recovery
Strategies, Performance Tuning, Capacity Planning. * At least 5 years
experience with UNIX client/server environment (preferably SUN Solaris
and IBM AIX), UNIX Korn shell scripting and performance tuning. * At
least 5 years installing, maintaining, and upgrading database
software, troubleshooting problems. * At least 5 years PC skills
(preferably MS Office); * At least 1 year experience with TMS
(Transport Management System) * A minimum of 1 year developing and
managing the database and SAP database related processes and
documentation. * At least 3 years in data modeling and integration,
data mining data migration and quality (assessment) management. * At
least 1 year in federated landscape integration and tuning. * A
minimum of 3 years experience with database architecture and design,
data integration and ETL processing, structured development
methodologies, and data modeling tools. * At least 3 years knowledge
of web and client/server technologies and development techniques on
multiple hardware/software platforms. * A minimum of 3 years in
practical experience in full systems development life cycle and
methodologies.
